We require all of our staff to be self-motivated team players who can adapt to the island living lifestyle.
The Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp seeks suitably experienced and enthusiastic outdoo instructors to join our awesome team. The position commences 9th January 2012 and runs through to the end of June 2012. The successful applicant may have the opportunity to renew the contract for the following season August – December 2012 and this could possibly lead to full time employment.
Work will include leading groups on a range of activities, based both at the camp on Motutapu Island and at a lodge situated in Ohakune, National Park. The successful candidate will also be required to assist in the maintenance and the overall efficient day to day running of the camp in addition to the core Instructional role. Some weekend work and travel will also be required.
The ideal candidate will have experience instructing in a combination of land, water and alpine based pursuits and will have a current first aid certificate. They will be able to work in a small, cohesive and passionate team and will interact well with clients of all ages.
A willingness to train in all activities offered at MOEC is a must and in return you will be given opportunities to develop your individual skills and knowledge through our excellent internal training program.
Successful applicant(s) will be able to work independently within our hard working team with the aim to provide quality outdoor experiential education.
As this position is residential, a weekly rate plus accommodation is offered.
We are always looking for dynamic and well-rounded instructors to assist on programmes when our full time crew will not cover all the instructional needs of a group. Work will involve leading groups in a range of activities based at the camp on Motutapu Island. Candidates must have experience in outdoor instruction and be confident and competent in rope work and water based pursuits.
These are part time positions however transport and accommodation will be provided whilst out on the island.
